What is the true story why the shrieking shack is known as the most haunted house in Britain?

In the novel Harry Potter and the Prisoner of AzkabanWhat is the true story why the shrieking shack is known as the most haunted house in Britain?
Because when Remus Lupin, went to school at Hogwarts he would go under the womping willow and into the shrieking shack to have a safe place to transform into a werewolf. This transformation is very painful, hence the ';shrieking.'; Professor Dumbledore always encouraged the rumors to keep people away from the shack because a werewolf has no mind, when they transform they could potentially kill even their own mother. They can't tell a friend from an enemy and they really don't care. Lupin was bitten by a werewolf named Fenrir Greyback as a child.

This never really made much sense to me. Ron had a ghoul living in his attic and ghost float about all through the books. They aren't exactly feared in the wizarding world, so it never made much sense for people to be that afraid to go in.What is the true story why the shrieking shack is known as the most haunted house in Britain?
Because Lupin would go in there when he morphed into a werewolf. It became haunted when people would hear Lupin's screams from the house.
It is known as the Shrieking Shack because of Lupin's cries of pain as he went werewolf when he was a Hogwarts student. The townsfolk thought that Lupin's howls and bangs were ghosts'.
